In the latest edition of Bloomberg’s Power On Newsletter, tech insider Mark Gurman unveils intriguing details about the upcoming 2024 iPad Pro redesign. Notably, the new Magic Keyboard is set for a significant overhaul, with the introduction of aluminum materials—a first for this accessory.
This transformation will blur the line between iPad and laptop even further, aligning with recent reports from Bloomberg. The revamped Magic Keyboard will also boast a larger trackpad surface, enhancing cursor precision and ease of use on the iPad.
The utilization of aluminum in the base area, where users rest their palms, promises a premium feel and improved durability. However, the exterior will retain the current rubbery cover material.
Remarkably, Gurman notes that the switch to aluminum will have a negligible impact on weight. The potential price adjustment for these premium materials remains uncertain, but it’s worth noting that the current Magic Keyboard is already a substantial investment, priced at $299 for the 11-inch variant and $349 for the 12.9-inch model.
